Who We Are
St. John’s is “rooted in Christ, growing in love.” That’s more than a slogan. It’s the Lord Jesus Christ’s work in us by the power of the Holy Spirit, to the glory of God the Father. St. John’s has been faithfully proclaiming Christ crucified as the hope of the world since 1891. We are a member congregation of the English District of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.

Debbie (Stuber) Bernard became organist and choir director at St. John’s in December 2014. She was born in Pembroke, and attended St. John’s as a youth. A piano-player since age five, her career was as CPA & Director of Business Management at Arnprior Aerospace.

Susan Schalo is the office administrator. This was her dream job since college, and it became a reality in 2018. She was born here in Pembroke, and has been a lifelong and faithful member of St. John’s. Susan married in 2011 and welcomed their daughter in a few years later.
